How to Participate:

1. Fellows Eligibility

  • You must be a U.S. citizen, US national, or permanent resident at the time of application.
  • (for Graduate Fellows) You must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student or eligible for clear/provisional admission to EKU graduate program in a STEM discipline.
  • (for Undergraduate Fellows) You must be a junior or senior majoring in one of the STEM disciplines at EKU, with at least 24 credit hours in STEM disciplines.
  • You must be available from July, 2004 through June 2005.
  Support:
  • Graduate Fellows
    • $30,000 per academic year and summer.
    • Tuition is waived.
    • Expenses incurred during project implementation.
  • Undergraduate Fellows
    • $5,000/academic year (9 months) stipend plus additional $5,000 for summer
    • Expenses incurred during project implementation.
  Procedure:
  • If you are applying for a graduate fellow AND are not currently enrolled in a STEM graduate program at EKU, you must apply for one. Application forms and instructions for a graduate program are available at EKU Graduate School.
  • Submit a complete ISMAM application to the chair of fellow selection committee.
2. Teachers Eligibility
  • Full time science or mathematics teacher in a participating school.
  • Interest in inquiry-based instruction.
  • Willingness to work on the project outside regular school hours.
